It was a rainy day on this Friday at CCC but we still found some sunshine as a camp and enjoyed our last day of the week together! We celebrated Mr. Brac’s birthday, sang about surfing, played some fun games and danced our hearts out. Week 1 has been a great success and we know our first show week ahead will be fantastic!

We took full advantage of our space indoors and made sure to have as much fun as possible, just like usual! We started outside with a classic game of dodgeball, and then moved our younger friends in doors to play an exciting game of zombie tag!

The fun didn’t stop there. Thanks to our new addition of a special workshop class, we had the opportunity to color and spend time with one another, while also delving into the world of set design and props beyond the stage.

Additionally, art class provided students a way to make friendship bracelets for themselves in others. Our incredibly creative campers always put their own unique spin on their crafts they make in art class, and thats exactly how our art class went today.

After a full week of camp together, our campers have only grown more and more confident in their music, dances, and more importantly, themselves!

“Let’s Go Surfing!”

All throughout camp today we heard one song filling the halls. “Surfin’ the Mail” is a super exciting and upbeat song that the campers have loved learning. Our dance and music classes both covered this song. Our campers are nailing the new choreography! We even used it in our latest reel we dropped on Instagram. Check it out!

Now that “Surfin’ the Mail” is playing on loop in all our heads, we can leave this week confident in a number of songs and dances. Over the last few days you may have heard your little one singing one of these songs…

  • “Meet the Lambchops”
  • “I Wish I Were Here (Part 1)”
  • “Travelin’ Through the Mail”
  • “Talent”
  • “Surfin’ the Mail”

And we have lots more to go! We encourage you to listen to these same songs with your little ones so they can come prepped and ready to put together our show next week!

Excellence in our Faith

This week in Faith Formation we’ve covered the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We’ve also learned about the Blessed Mother and even prayed a rosary. Vital lessons have been shared through fun and interesting stories, and also exciting and energetic games. Today was probably our campers favorite day yet!

We had an open discussion with our campers about the importance of being a good person. This has always meant being kind, friendly, respectful, engaged, and more. Today we added a new term to that list for our campers… “Virtue”.

Our campers learned the difference between Virtue and Vice by telling their own stories from camp. We loved hearing all the times that they themselves have practiced patience, humility, generosity, charity, and more all without even knowing it!

Our oldest group of campers started their Faith Formation session with prayerful meditation. They also, along with the rest of our camp, had the opportunity to have even more indoor fun with our tag spin-off game we like to call “Jesus and the Tempter”

Show Time!

Don’t forget to join us next Thursday at 7:00pm and Friday at 2:00pm for our performances of The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley Jr.! We are looking forward to seeing this fun production debut on the CCC stage!
