Welcome to Day 8 of Aladdin Kids! It has definitely been an eventful day here at camp. Our theme day today was Christmas in July! The campers were decked out in different Christmas gear, such as socks, shirts, hats, skirts, wrapping paper, and much more! When the campers come into camp in the morning, they are welcomed by music and dancing in the theater. Today, we listened to all Christmas music and even had Christmas music trivia to wake us up!

We have an extremely important announcement to make to our CCC Family. As you probably know, this week is forecasted to have exceptionally high temperatures. Friday, our show day, will have a high temperature of 95 degrees, and it has an excessive heat warning. Because of this, our show times are being moved around a bit. Our first performance of Aladdin Kids will be tomorrow, Thursday, July 18th, at 7pm. Our second performance will be Friday, July 19th, at 2pm. All pre-purchased tickets will be honored. An email has been sent to all parents of our campers with further information. There will be complementary water at each show!

Although we lose a day of rehearsal, we are not worried! Our campers are doing a great job with putting this show together. Today we made sure to take time to focus on putting the final polishing on all of our vocals. The children have so much fun with the music in the show, and we know the audience will love it! The campers had games inside today due to the high temperatures. Games such as Ping-Pong, Headbands, and 7-Up were enjoyed by all. Mr. Field seized the great opportunity given to him by our theme day and taught the campers about the Baby Jesus and the story of the Nativity in Faith Formation. The Media Center, where games was held, and the chapel, where Faith Formation takes place, are both air conditioned. The campers definitely enjoyed cooling off. A lot of our time today was dedicated to running our show. Smaller details were added to our scenes to make them the best they possibly can be! Some of our leads had the opportunity to put on their costumes for our run this afternoon, too! Our show has really come together. We couldn’t have done it without the hard work put in by staff members and campers alike.

Theme Day Winners!

So festive! Congrats, campers!

Camper of the Day!

Congratulations to all!

Be sure to spread the word about our changed performance times and dates! Come see our production of Aladdin Kids, sponsored by Mr. Dave White and many others, on Thursday, July 18th at 7pm and Friday, July 19th at 2pm!
