WOW! Jam packed day at CCC!! We’re mid way through Week 1 of Session III and today we celebrated one of our favorite theme days, Disney Day! This has been a theme day every summer at CCC for years and it always is fun and exciting for not just the campers, but the staff too! As always, everyone arrived in Disney spirit showing off their best and most loved Disney attire. From Toy Story, to princesses, to 101 Dalmatians, we saw it all and we just loved it!

Our day was off to a fun start as staff completed their next staff challenge with some Disney trivia. Now this time the staff had to get in some exercise as they competed with Disney trivia. They had to run to the center aisle, claim the Mickey Mouse and then present the answer. We thought some of the trivia was pretty simple, but it turns out there is a lot of hidden Disney trivia many of us did not know. It was a fun start to the day as we celebrated our Disney theme and watched our staff compete and be silly. The competition is not over yet…Will it be Team A, B or C who wins the full challenge and takes the title home for first staff challenge winner in CCC history?

We quickly got to work as campers know that in a little more than 1 week, our production of My Son Pinocchio Jr. opens for the first time ever on the CCC stage. We worked on some tough songs today led by our production team and are very impressed with all that was accomplished in just one day.

In acting and dance classes, campers worked on many of the details of our production. From choreography to staging, every camper worked hard from start to finish learning all new elements of this production. Outside of working on our production, campers spent time relaxing in faith formation, art and games. It is always important to take some down time and have some fun while we can take a break from working on our show.

Many campers told us how much they loved art class today! Throughout the summer, campers have been so happy to spend time with Mrs. Ellis making fun projects, getting messy and sharing a different creative side. Today, campers channeled the inner Disney theme as they made puffy paint Olaf’s! It was definitely a fun mess for all!

Today in Faith Formation we learned about how Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice out of love. We learned that we can imitate this same sacrificial and unconditional love through our own friendships and relationships! To encourage this we had our campers split up and introduce themselves to someone new and we made many new friends.

Outside we enjoyed that temperatures are starting to cool down finally! We played classic capture the flag and enjoyed running on the field with friends old and new. We love a great class outside with our good friend Mr. Babcock!

Disney Fun For All!

We had an all around great day at CCC! So many smiles, laughs and so much hard work. Our campers had the chance to pair up with staff and switch with them for a fun acting skit this afternoon and it was quite entertaining! The day flew by but the love and fun of Disney made it perfect at CCC! Through all the hard work, the fun, the laughter and the faith shared at CCC, we know that faith and fun is truly center stage at CCC. And thanks to Disney, we know “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them”.
