We’ve Got Sunshine on a Cloudy Day…

#SummerbytheCCC20 has taken Session III “under the sea” and our campers love it! They definitely enjoyed the cooler weather today. It may have been a cloudy day, but that doesn’t stop our campers from making every moment count! As we continue to work on our production, it is clear to see that this show is a camp favorite. Campers have never been so excited to get to their next class! Parents will see the excitement for themselves when we perform The Little Mermaid Jr. next Friday!

Getting into the groove!

4 days into The Little Mermaid Jr. and our daily class rotation has become like clockwork for the campers. They are so excited to learn the next song or dance, that they are ready to move to the next class before some of our counselors!

We were happy to have the rain hold off so we could spend this morning together Under the Sea with all of our campers at stage time. It’s wonderful to see their faces light up as we go through some of our favorite Little Mermaid songs. Together we rehearsed “Under the Sea”, “Kiss the Girl”, and “Fathoms Below”.

When it came time to break into our classes, our campers were ready to move. They all had the opportunity to learn some new dances and songs that really captured their inner sea creature! Our fish friends then got the chance to work on acting skills while blocking out some of the scenes from the show. Campers who do not had a lead or supporting role enjoyed playing so fun acting games with Miss Tina that left us laughing all day! We heard something about sleeping with cake under your pillow…we won’t ask!

Games class was especially fun today as groups of 4 worked together to create their own movie scene using just 1 verb, 1 adjective, and 2 nouns! The campers had a lot of fun with this one and it was fun for the counselors to watch too! On top of that, they were able to express their creativity through their very own kiss bags that they made in Art class. Kiss bags are a long standing CCC tradition that campers get to take home with them after their performance. Treats can be put in the bag from family and fellow campers to say “job well done!”.

Campers of the Day!

Each day we feature campers who shine both on and off the stage and are an example to others. Congrats to our Campers of the Day: Maddy, Anna, Jaycee, Maura & Camille! #CCCshines
