Christmas in July at CCC!

We love a good theme day! Christmas tunes were loud and clear today as we celebrated Christmas in July with our Pirates Past Noon Kids campers! We absolutely loved all the great attire and creativity! Despite the warm weather, we enjoyed singing along to some of our favorite Christmas tunes and being silly in our Christmas gear! Don’t worry, Christmas is still 178 days til the big day!

Putting the Finishing Touches on our Show

Campers put in another full day of hard work as we prepare for our first performance of #SummerbytheCCC20. Although we can’t perform for the general public due to current guidelines, we are still giving 100% and shining bright. This is the first time CCC is performing Pirates Past Noon Kids and we have really enjoyed telling this new story on our stage. With just a few hours of camp remaining for this session, campers put the finishing touches on their performance and continue to practice. We are so proud!

Staff Sharing their Talents!

We built some time into our schedule so that campers could hear from some of our talented staff after lunch. We forgot to take a couple pictures but here are some highlights of staff performing for our campers!

Sharing our Shine Legacy

Today we held Faith Formation in a special place on the grounds of St. Kevin’s. For many years, Miss Steph (Mrs. Stephanie Egan Braconnier) led our art class as well as our scenic design team for all productions. Whether you knew Miss Steph or heard about her story and time at CCC, you most likely know of our #ShineforMissSteph legacy and #CCCshines motto. We sadly lost Miss Steph September 4, 2016 but continue to shine for her and remind campers of her positive energy, love and care for all she encountered at CCC and beyond. After we lost Miss Steph, the CCC family came together to dedicate a grotto and memorial in Miss Steph’s honor at St. Kevin’s, where CCC began many years back. It is a special place for so many of us and we are grateful to be able to share Miss Steph’s story, including her commitment to the mission of CCC and remind campers to not only always shine for just Miss Steph, but for themselves too!

When we asked campers how they could #ShineforMissSteph, one camper said, “We could sing loud enough so that Miss Steph could hear us in Heaven. ” And that is absolutely what we plan to keep doing!

Competition Time!

Campers enjoyed some competition through our relays held today at camp. With the creative design by Mr. Babcock, campers laughed their way through the challenging obstacles and cheered one another on.

Congratulations to our Christmas in July theme day winners: Sean, Bobby, Kenzie, JJ and Kendall!
