High School Musical Jr. Day 6!
After a nice weekend, we are so excited to be back at summer camp! The staff and campers all came in with lots of energy, even on a Monday morning. We were all prepared to give 110% of our dedication to our show today. Because of this, we were able to dust off some cobwebs that may have grown over the weekend and get to work!
The campers put a lot of hard work into our show all day. The oldest groups had a long time to focus on new musical numbers in vocal class today. While our groups were singing, some of our key leads broke off with Mr. Ryan to do scene work. With more songs learned and more scenes taught, Miss Erin had time to teach the whole cast the choreography to “Stick to the Status Quo.” Our favorite way to get work done here at CCC is to “divide and conquer.” When working with such large casts, it can easily get overwhelming. But, when we break up in smaller groups it makes everything much more manageable.
Yes, our campers do get a chance to relax during the day! In art class, we made yearbooks. Our campers had such a great time signing everyone else’s projects and leaving nice messages. The children had a great time in games with the legendary father and son duo, Mr. Babcock and Elijah. There were many things to do outside, such as jumprope, play with the parachute, have a potato sack race, or play a game favorite “Hunger Games.” The Hunger Games is a fun version of dodgeball, but it is every man for himself. It gets pretty intense!
Camper of the Day!
