High School Musical Jr. Day 2!

We had quite a busy day here at High School Musical Jr., the third and final show of #SummerByTheCCC19! Our cast list was posted on our website last night, meaning that the campers could get to camp today, get their scripts, and get focused. Yesterday gave us a great head start when it came to learning big group numbers. Now, it is time to get a closer look at scenes and small group numbers.

Our day began with a very productive stage time with the full cast. We looked over some of the group numbers we began yesterday, and even started new ones! Right now, the campers already know three musical numbers and are in the process of learning a fourth. It is crazy how fast our campers pull these summer camp shows together! The campers spent some time in art with Miss Grace. Each child got to make and decorate a basketball art project, which will be hung up in our lobby during our performances! Miss Erin taught our younger campers the dances to “Wildcat Cheer” and “The Start of Something New.” Meanwhile, Mr. Ryan gave the older campers different blocking for those numbers. The children had time to get some energy out during games with Mr. Babcock. Each camper had the chance to run relay races, participate in Run the Bases, or play Uno, Connect 4, and Headbands. We are sure that they will sleep well tonight!

With renovations happening within O’Hara right now, some of our classrooms are a bit moved around. Instead of being held in the 3rd floor Media Center, lunch is held in another large classroom and art is held in the faculty dining room. The faculty dining room is air conditioned, so the campers enjoy cooling off with Miss Grace!
