Today is day 8 of Once on This Island Jr. at Catholic Community Choir and we have been working so hard. Our camps are always filled with fun and excitement. Throughout our two weeks we all look forward to our performances, so it’s crazy to think that we will be putting on our show in two days! Every camper makes a difference in our show, from the youngest pre-K 3 child to our eighth graders. It is so heartwarming to see them all shine together on one stage.
Since today is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we started our day with mass. Everyone on O’Hara’s campus celebrated Mass together. This included Catholic Community Choir, all preseason sports, administrators, and more! It was so nice to be able to come together as one and take time out of our busy days for God. The campers soon went to snack and broke into their groups. They started decorating their kiss bags in art class today. Kiss bags will be in the lobby on the day of our shows so that friends and family can leave candy and messages for their favorite performers. Since our show is completely blocked, the oldest campers did a run of it. We then spent time ironing out the kinks of our show. The campers also got to spend time outside at games with Mr. Babcock. Each class is fun and the campers always have a great time.
Last night we had our last Kids Night Out of the summer, which was luau themed. There was pizza and games galore. The campers had a dance part with glow sticks and fun music. We even had a photo booth! The children love Kids Night Out! It is a fun and safe place to hang out with their friends. Each camper had such a great time.
It is crazy to think that our performances of Once on This Island Jr. are in two short days! Come see our show on August 17th at 2pm and 7pm. Tickets to Once on This Island Jr. are available here. Be sure to like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram and Twitter!
