We can’t believe that it is already day 7 of Once on This Island Jr. It feels as though we just started. Having fun with our friends at camp really makes time fly. Once on This Island is a big show. It is full of booming musical numbers, exciting dances, colorful costumes, a detailed set, and lots of fun. We can not wait for you to get to appreciate all the hard work our cast has put into it.
Today was a busy day, per usual. The show has now been completely blocked! Blocking is the placement and stage direction during a scene. It can be a long and tedious process to teach the blocking for each scene. Having all of this done is huge. Now we can really focus on running our show and getting the flow of it. The campers have been reviewing their music and dances throughout the day. It is amazing to see these musical numbers being built from the ground up. The children start camp without knowing any of the music, so it is amazing to see how far they come in our short two weeks. The campers were able to go outside for games today with Mr. Babcock. It was nice for them to be able to get some fresh air! Mr. Field led faith formation and quizzed the campers on what they have been learning for the past week. Faith formation is such an important part of our day. The children get so excited to talk about their faith. We really do bring faith and fun centerstage here at CCC.
We have a Kid’s Night Out planned for tonight, August 14th. Kid’s Night Out is always fun, so we can’t wait to see you there! It is crazy to think that our performances of Once on This Island Jr. are in three short days! Come see our show on August 17th at 2pm and 7pm.Tickets to Once on This Island Jr. are available here.
