Welcome back to the second day of our third summer camp, Once on This Island Jr.! We’ve been having such a great time here at camp. All summer long, our campers have been singing, dancing, laughing, playing games, and having fun with their friends. Putting on a show is always fun, but the best part about it is the friendships made throughout the rehearsal process. Catholic Community Choir wouldn’t be the place it is today without the amazing people who are apart of it.

Since today is day two of camp, our newest campers are now making new friends and are getting used to our schedule. The children sang and danced to “We Dance.” They also started to learn the vocals to “One Small Girl.” In Faith Formation, the campers learned about the importance of the Eucharist. In art class, they worked on a variety of projects. The oldest group is constructing a palm tree! Our cast always has such a fun time outside with Mr. Babcock. There, they play games and get a nice break from all the hard work going on with the show. Our set team, led by James Kull and John McCarthy, has already built a base for our set. We can’t wait to see how it’ll turn out! Staff members, Ryan Jewell and Gina Reed, have already started getting our costumes ready for next week. We’ve been getting so much work done in the past two days, but don’t let it fool you, we’ve also been having fun! All work and no play is definitely not how we roll here.

Even if you are not involved in Once on This Island Jr., you should still stay active in CCC! We have a Kid’s Night Out planned for August 14th and we have our performances of Once on This Island Jr. on August 17th. We hope to see you there!
