Welcome back to our third and final summer camp of summer 2018! We started out the summer in Paris following Thomas O’Malley in Aristocats Kids. In July, we met The Cat in the Hat and Jojo in Seussical Kids. Now, we’re traveling to the Caribbean in Once on This Island Jr.! We are so excited to be back for another great two weeks.
For those of you who are new to the CCC Family and our summer camps, our campers are divided into age groups. This way, each camper gets a more personalized experience in each class. The campers go to vocals, dance, games, art, and faith formation. Each class is always so fun and is led by our wonderful staff. Today the campers learned the opening number, “We Dance,” in vocals. They also learned the choreography to this number in dance class. In art class, the campers worked on arts and crafts that will decorate the lobby on our show day, next Friday. Since today is the Feast of the Transfiguration, the campers discussed the importance of this day in Faith Formation. The leads of our show have already started to learn their scenes. Our set from Seussical is all taken down, so the stage is all ready to be turned into a beautiful island.
As you can see, we’ve already tackled a lot of work today and it’s only day one! Our camp days are always busy, but they are definitely filled with fun. Campers and staff members both enjoy coming to Catholic Community Choir throughout the summer. It is amazing to see the campers learn a full length show in only nine days. Even if you are not involved in Once on This Island Jr., you should still stay active in CCC! We have a Kid’s Night Out planned for August 14th and we have our performances of Once on This Island Jr. on August 17th. We hope to see you there!
